Steel is an AQHA yearling gray stud colt out of our matriarch, Pearl, and by a big Mr. Roan Hancock-bred stallion.
Steel has a quiet, willing mind and is the kind that genuinely wants to please his person. He's easy to be around, thinks before he reacts, and has shown the calm disposition we value in our program.
His dam is extremely cowy, and Steel showed that same natural instinct as a foal while out on pasture with cattle. He has the brains, bone, and athleticism to put in a full day's work, whether that's on the ranch or down the trail.
If space wasn't a factor, Steel would be staying here as a future riding gelding because he has the kind of mind we're always looking to keep. His half brother is currently being started as a 3-year-old and is proving to be every bit as solid as we hoped, giving us even more confidence in this cross.
